Organized crime, often linked to state actors such as Russia, has grown more powerful in the past two decades and is being fueled by technology, according to author and journalist Misha Glenny.
Speaking to TVP World at the European Forum Alpbach in Austria, Glenny said that Europe is primarily a “consumer zone” in terms of narcotics and illicit goods, while the Balkans and Latin America serve as major distribution hubs.
